Our Founder

Hi, I’m Kim, a STOTT PILATES® Comprehensive Instructor and founder of Hana Studio, with over eight years of teaching experience in the Queenstown region, now based in Cromwell.

Over this time, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of people - from experienced practitioners, to beginners discovering Pilates for the first time, to older adults wanting to maintain strength, balance and mobility. I’m passionate about helping people move safely, understand their bodies and build strength that supports everyday life.

Hana Studio is a project very close to my heart. My goal is to create a welcoming and supportive space where people feel comfortable learning, moving and becoming stronger at their own pace.

My teaching focuses on building strong foundations through mindful movement, proper alignment and controlled strength. Rather than rushing through exercises, I guide clients to understand how their bodies move so they can build strength safely and with confidence.

My hope is that every person who walks into the studio leaves feeling stronger, more balanced and more confident in their body.

Our Classes

  • A tailored, personalised session using the reformer to build strength, improve movement, and work towards your individual goals with supportive guidance. Each session is 50 minutes.

  • A supportive small group class using bodyweight and small props to build strength, improve control and stability. Each class is 50 minutes.

  • A dynamic, low-impact, high-intensity workout blending Pilates and ballet-inspired movement. Designed to improve tone, endurance, and posture in an energising, music-driven environment. Each class is 50 minutes.

FAQ

  • Not at all. Classes are suitable for all levels - from beginner to advanced - with options provided to support your needs. If you have any injuries or specific concerns, please let your instructor know prior to class.

  • All bookings are managed through Zenamu.

    New clients will need to create a Zenamu account or login with Google account and add Hana Studio to your account to view the timetable and book your sessions.

    If you need any help setting up your account or making a booking, feel free to get in touch.

  • A minimum of 8 hours’ notice is required. Late cancellations or no-shows will result in the session being forfeited.

  • Session packs are designed to support consistency and progression.
    10-session packs are valid for 4 months from the date of purchase.

  • Reformer Pilates uses specialised equipment with springs and resistance to support and challenge your movement. It allows for a more personalised and guided experience.

    Mat Pilates is performed on the floor using bodyweight and small props, focusing on core strength, stability and control.

    Both are effective. The choice depends on your preference and goals.
